Acetyl-L-carnitine is the acetylated form of L-carnitine with high bioavailability and absorption. Carnitine is an amino acid, which is produced by the body from lysine. Its main metabolic function is the transport of fatty acids to the mitochondria of muscle cells for oxidation for energy production.
